Sponge-y Goodness

So the other night I got curious as to how a sponge mani would look. I did it with a red and green that had some gold undertones. It looked cool but too early for a Christmas look.

Last night when I was sitting around sick, I did this. (This is also after I cut my nails short)

This is Kleancolor Sea Ice with Kleancolor Cobalt sponged over. I love how it looks. I may grab some white and do the line between the two.
Enjoy!

Sally Hansen-Firm Fig

Sorry I've neglected this...I've been busy with moving and my nails have turned into a hot mess. During the move I cracked one and chipped the corner off another. They've been cut down but I have a couple of pictures of a mani I did before the move!

I present....Sally Hansen's Firm Fig. It's a quick dry polish and I wasn't a huge fan of the color in the bottle but I loved it on my nails. I grabbed it for about 2 dollars at Wal Mart. In some lights the color was redish, in others it was purple/pink. I liked that.

Here is a swatch:

And another with some crackle going horizontally.

I may get into the crackle thing if I do it like this. I loved the effect it had. This teaches us one thing! Hit up the dollar and clearance bins when you can. I found a winner in them. :)

Let's Talk Red

So one of my things recently has been finding the perfect red. I've tried two so far. The first is Revlon's Mon Cherry. It's a scented polish. Smells like cherries when it's dry. The color is great yet formula leaves less to be desired. I put the polish on a few hours before bed, didn't do anything really harsh except sit around. Went to bed and woke up the next morning with a few huge chips in it. I was like "duude" So I threw another coat on it and then a top coat over it. Meaning I had to miss the tasty smell part of it. After a few hours I noticed the polish bubbling really bad on my pinky.

Without further ado...Revlon Mon Cherry. This is 3 coats and a top coat.

The second polish I tried is one that I got in the mail yesterday. It's one that has probably been talked about before, but I'm going to gush about it now. It's Zoya's Posh. It's a matte polish and it's AMAZING. It's my first run with a Zoya polish and I'm sure it won't be my last. It could have been a one coater if I wanted it to be, but I went with two coats. The color is so deep but still has some sparkle to it. Not to mention it went on like butter and stood up to pumpkin carving. LOL

So, without further ado...Zoya Posh. 2 coats. No topcoat as this is a matte and doesn't need it. :)

Happy Halloween!

Let's get rollin'

Alright, so I haven't been able to get going on this for a while because of school and such, but I do have some pictures to share and post. The layout is a premade, but I like it so it can stay. LOL

First picture is a layering. One of my first ones.

This one is Kleancolor-Sweet Pink (3 coats) and OPI-Serving Up Sparkle (1-2 coats) The pink was really thin so I would suggest you do a white basecoat instead. I say 1-2 coats on the sparkle since I did a few nails with more sparkle. The coverage wasn't as great as I liked.

This one is another Kleancolor/OPI combo. Kleancolor Colbalt(2 coats) and Nicole by OPI Gone Wishin' (1 coat). I LOVED this one. I actually am wearing another version of it today. I get so many compliments on it. Today I have the Gone Wishin' over Sally Hansen's Teal Steel. I found the Gone Wishin' at Wal Mart. It's not on the Nicole by OPI site so I don't know how easy it will be for others to find. Oddly my boyfriend picked this one out and it's turned into a favorite of mine for layering.

Another layering with a Kleancolor polish. You are going to kill me soon aren't you? LOL This one is Avon's Speed Dry-Red Wine (2 coats) with Kleancolor Chunky Holo Black (1 thick coat) over it. Let me tell you. I saw the Chunky Holo Black over some other polishes on a million different blogs but I never saw it over a red. I got curious. Totally worth it. Such a beautiful fall manicure and I couldn't stop staring at my nails. The avon polish wasn't as fast dry as I liked, but it wasn't bad. I can't really tell you how much it is and where to get it. I won it at a school fair thing. I entered my name in a drawing and won nail polish. Lucky me!

Rejoice! This one isn't a Kleancolor! It's Wet N Wild Sage in the City (3 coats). I found this beauty at Wal Mart. It is a fast dry polish and does stick to that. I do want to comment on the application though. It was streaky and bubbled. It also was very smelly. I dealt with it because the color was so fantastic. After a day or so, I threw some black shatter over it.

Hope you like these. I shall return with more colors! I apologize for the picture quality and lighting. I live in a fairly overcast place.

*hangs a construction sign*

Hey there!

I'm normally a digital scrapper/tagger so this is my first real foray into another blog. I need to get it prettied up and such, but that will have to be tomorrow.

What will I do here? Document my nail growth and all the pretty colors I'll be doing with it. :o

I'm new to this, so please be kind.
